Holiday Villa in Wine Region of Portugal

Traditional 1930s 6 Bedroom House with Pool
Your search results

Stay and relax in our Portuguese Villa right at the heart of a typical village in the wine region of Portugal.

North of Lisbon, just 45 mins from Lisbon Airport

The house was built in the 1930s as a manor house for the Mayor and has now been renovated to showcase the beautiful stonework, railway sleeper steps and huge nook fireplace, but of course with all the mod cons.   If you would like to visit a real Portuguese village and stay in the manor house with all its rustic charm this is the place for you.

6 bedrooms with loads of different sleeping arrangements on request.
Huge living areas for socialising but with secret snugs for quiet time.
Pool, garden and outdoor kitchen and dining area plus a sun drenched roof terrace.

In the area

The main attraction are the vineyards. Many Quintas in the area offer tastings and tours, and lunches for groups. There is a very refined ‘adega’ shop  attached to the
Co-operativa in the village selling award-winning local wine at extraordinary low prices.  They are happy to offer tastings before you decide.

The village itself has a locally renowned bakery ( restaurant attached is amazing but only open for lunch ), a bar with a pool table, 2 cafes with snacks, a new 5-a-side football pitch, a post office with ATM, cobbled streets, colourfully painted houses and pretty places to sit to enjoy the tranquility.

Only 3kms away is Buddha Eden,  a huge sculpture park, cheap at €5 in, but a big day out. Huge sleeping buddha statues with feet twice as tall as a man, a blue painted replica of the famous Chinese terracotta army, several lakes, a train line for the less mobile and modern sculptures, including many from UK artists.
Part of this amazing complex is a Quinta ( vineyard ) selling great wines and liqueurs at very good prices.  Plenty of the wines is available to try at the cafes around the park as well.
You are 30 mins drive to some of the most beautiful beaches on the Atlantic coast of Portugal.
There is the walled medieval town of Obidos, just 10 mins drive from the Villa.
Obidos hosts medieval jousting, and a chocolate festival, in fact there seems to be some sort of festival or festa, happening every week in this area.

Just 15 mins drive is the largest go-karting track in Europe.

Of course, proximity to Lisbon means you can make a day trip and enjoy the winding streets of the old town, go to the brilliant aquarium, or go to the palaces of Sintra.

The original name of the property, lost in time was Palacete.
As the house is situated on the corner of Rua Vasco da Gama, we named the house, Palacete Vasco da Gama.
